Zekarias Amslau  has been at the forefront of providing exposure of the emerging Tech sector in Ethiopia starting from coining the term ‘Sheba Valley’ for Ethiopia’s tech space and representing and speaking on behalf of flourishing Tech-start-ups’ in Ethiopia at various platforms and research papers. Zekarias started his career in the private Banking sector in Ethiopia followed by a regional Finance Treasury role at Shell Oil East Africa Hub.

Amadou has two passions in life: Africa and software engineering. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and MSc. in Management Information System from the USA. Over the last five years he has travelled across Africa searching for top software engineers and in the process, acquired a lot of knowledge on the IT landscape in Africa and the opportunities it presents.

Diaspora Tech Awards - Call for Nominations
Nominate a Founder for the Inaugural 2018 African Diaspora Tech Awards
As the Startup ecosystem in Silicon Valley slowly grows in diversity and Africa seeks its own original unicorns, we are eager to celebrate and elevate our current pioneers,and increase the stakes for true afropreneurship within Silicon Valley and all the way to the continent.

At the 2018 edition of the African Diaspora Investment Symposium, the African Technology Foundation and the African Diaspora Network will co-present the inaugural African Diaspora Tech Awards in Silicon Valley to recognize our own technology pioneers, and amplify the ventures of young upcoming entrepreneurs.

We are calling for nominations of male and female African Founders within the diasporaover the next three weeks. Self nominations are also welcome.

Nomination Criteria

Group I - Afropioneers
Qualifying businesses will:
1. Have growing revenue or a significantly growing customer base.
2. Have at least one founder in the African Diasporan community, and be either locally based, or willing and able to travel to ADIS for the event.

Group II - Afrinnovators
Qualifying businesses will:
1. Have a fully functional and demonstrable MVP and achieved product market fit.
2. Have at least one founder in the African Diasporan community, and be either locally based, or willing and able to travel to ADIS for the event.

Target Sectors
1. Frugal Technologies.
2. Application Software.
3. Inclusion and Impact (E.g. Energy, Fintech, Education, Health)
4. Services (E.g. Commerce, Transportation, Agriculture)
5. Enterprise Solutions.

To nominate a Founder within your network, or to nominate yourself, please fill out this nomination form before the deadline of December 22nd, 2017. All nominees will be invited to the Award ceremony to be held as part of the 2018 edition of the African Diaspora Investment Symposium.

The Competition seeks to celebrate African entrepreneurs in the Diaspora. The judges will evaluate each nomination within the two groups, and contact each nominee with further questions on their qualification criteria. All the participating startups will be reviewed within a standard selection framework.

We look forward to receiving your nominations and celebrating African ingenuity in the diaspora!

African Union Student’S Council-Niger National office en collaboration avec le Centre Culturel Américain a organisé la 1ere Edition de la ‘’ nuit culturelle panafricaine’’ dans les locaux du Centre Culturel Américain (CCA) le mercredi 24 mai 2017 à partir de 18h. Une activité qui a vu la participation de plus de 200 personnes dont : nos membres des clubs AUSC de Niamey, les Adhérents de AUSC, nos partenaires, son excellence Madame la ministre de population, la Directrice Géné...
Cette formation est ouverte à l'endroit des étudiants et professionnels intéressés par l'idée d'entreprendre. Car la détection de l'idée ainsi que sa définition représente le premier pas pour les aspirants entrepreneurs.
En effet, d'éminents acteurs évoluant le secteurs d'entrepreneuriat répondront pour l'encadrement.
Une attestation sera remise aux participants.
Toujours dans le cadre de renforcement des capacités en leadership des honorables de AUSC-Niger, le Bureau National en collaboration avec le Club Hanzari Toast-master organise à l'endroit de ses membres des clubs et différents adhérents, des séances hebdomadaires de Toast-Master dans l'enceinte de l'EMIG.

Cette formation était ouverte seulement aux membres des différents clubs de `AUSC-Niger national office` qui représentent la dite organisation dans les différentes universités, instituts, grandes écoles, ainsi que les lycées du Niger
