Motivation Letter No2 by Honorable Mr Houssem Abida, AUSC Tunisia Chapter National Office Representative

If I become the AUSC Tunisia National Chapter Office Representative, I will work on making the council more known in my country and encourage youth here to register and be members, because I believe building a strong base of members in all of the countries will help the organization achieve its goals and implement easily its projects with all the human resources this base will offer.
Second, as I see this council a big network of exchange, I will work on making Tunisian NGOs register in it, and work on creating links with other NGOs in other African countries that has the same interests or fields of work. This will help both parts improve their work, learn from each other’s experience and built sustainable and long-term partnerships. So any NGO in Tunisia can contact me and ask me if there are any other NGO like her in any African country, and I can suggest them ones by myself too.
Third, as this is a student council, we need to give academics enough attention. That’s why, as a representative of the council, I will try to contact the Tunisian universities and all NGOs that offer academic exchange programs to internationals to emphasize on these opportunities and promote them more.
And for Tunisian students, I will start a platform with all exchange programs or scholarships offered in the other African countries for them, because here, we have a huge problem with access to information and knowing about such opportunities. Also, all regional meetings or workshops, international events in Africa will be shared on this platform, in order to empower the presence of Tunisians in African events.
Fourth, If I discover an interesting project or NGO in one of the countries and that doesn’t exist in Tunisia, I will work on finding good people to start a branch of it in Tunisia.
Also, I will do my best to be present in all the youth and educational events happening in Tunisia as a representative or ambassador of the union’s council, share its thoughts and express his suggestions.
Finally, as one of the missions of this union is to release reports on youth and their problems in African countries, I can help by searching and providing any published report on the needed topics concerning youth in Tunisia.
I aim to achieve all this after making a small but efficient team with me and of course, if you honor me and give me the position of the council’s representative in Tunisia,

Best regards,
Houssem Abida

Motivation Letter No1 by Honorable Mr Houssem Abida, AUSC Tunisia Chapter National Office Representative

In Tunisia, I am engaged in civic society in different fields, but mainly in Tunisian cultural heritage. And through my work in this field, I discovered that Tunisia has strong links with the other African countries (even more than to Arab countries in some specific regions). And that’s when I started questioning, why we, Tunisian youth are more involved and present in Arab councils, working on building a big Arab network and aiming to extend our projects in the other Arab countries, while we have youth that are more close to us not only historically or geographically, but also in our beliefs, problems and dreams. Almost 1/3 of the students in private universities in Tunisia come from African countries, and in the same time many Tunisian students travel to these countries to continue their studies. Also, I am convinced that the African youth face the same problems whatever is their country. We all work on the sustainable development of our communities with the smallest resources, we are all fighting to improve the education quality and create opportunities for ourselves with all the corruption and access to information issues, and mostly we are all committed to promote our countries in the best image possible, even with all the stereotypes about them.
So this council will for sure make us achieve this goal, because it will make us closer to each other, learn from our experiences and built long term partnerships as NGOs and communities. And me personally, as I said in the beginning, I want to emphasize on the common points in African countries heritage. As a founder and present director of a project that works on Tunisian cultural heritage, I am looking for other groups of African youth working on the same topic in their countries, and try to start projects that makes us discover better the common points and promote them well.
