The YouthConnekt Africa Summit is back and will be hosted in Kigali, Rwanda from the 8th to the 10th of October 2018 under the theme Connekting Youth for Continental Transformation.

About YouthConnekt Africa

YouthConnekt Africa is a dynamic youth empowerment program focused on leveraging information technology and the power of partnerships to unlock the potential of youth and bridge the gap between their aspirations and the limitless opportunities that their continent has to offer. Visible results have been realized in creating jobs, promoting active citizenship, innovation and skills development.  Building on this model, 6 African countries have taken on YouthConnekt and are setting up national chapters and many more have expressed interest.

YouthConnekt 4 Trade This track is directly aligned to the summits theme around trade. The recently signed ACFTA has put cross border trade at the forefront of the African development agenda. Key determinants of challenges faced in accelerating intra africa trade include:- lack of trade facilitation; inadequate border infrastructure; limited access to finance; limited market information; corruption & insecurity; and limited knowledge, education & business management skills. YouthConnekt4Trade track will propel & inform discussions & activities in parallel summit tracks. JobConnekt This track will focus on career advice, connect delegates to employers, allows job seekers to post their CVs online. This track will also be connected to the app which will feature an employment section. GigKorner As the gig economy starts taking shape in Africa, the JobConnekt Hub features a space that will share tools on what it is, how to prepare for it & how to seek opportunities. We will also acknowledge the growing number of networks of freelance workers and the growing use of machines, which is reshaping human resource in companies. As part-time contingent labour increases, the GigKorner will serve employers too who are not fully prepared for this evolution in the workforce. Connected Innovators Innovation hubs that include innovators in products, processes, service delivery, business models and so forth will be found in this hub. They will participate in a dynamic, interactive program that will be see them take center stage in the planning, preparation & executive of this tracks program. It is an amazing space to showcase innovations across Africa. Connekted Girls YouthConnekt Africa 2018's program will celebrate achievements, acknowledge progress, teach & motivate based on what other women are doing in Africa.
