Happy African Day On May 25th, 2017
African Union Students' Council (AUSC) President and Founder has delivered the special message to all Young Generations of African Roots for a Happy African Day On May 25th, 2017
"This African Day On May 25th, 2017 today must be your best reminder for the struggle and victory  of Liberation and African Freedom and Fighters; our Ancestors; who contributed in making this continent of AFRICA much more Independent ,and we are wishing You the happy celebrations of this International Africa Day to  All Africans and Friends of Africa".

May 25th is the celebration day across Africa to commemorate the formation of the Organization of African Unity. Economic activism is the pan Africanist issue of the day. Young Africans across the globe must embrace land ownership and economic dominance in order to compete in the global economic dominance environment otherwise political independence means nothing without economic liberation and the freedom to control the continent’s destiny.

In the 1920s the Africans in North America and in the Caribbean began to experience an awakening and the rise of self-help programs began to spread across these areas. The message was advanced by Marcus Garvey. Garvey was the first person to call for the unity of all people of African descent regardless of geographic location. This unity was around the concept of “Africa for the African” through economic independence. In 1958 Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana held the first Pan Africanist meeting on the African continent that brought thinkers and foremost thought leaders of the day to a great meeting of the minds strategizing the path forward for Africa. These thought leaders wanted to be the architects to launch the strike that would dismantle the colonial regime and liberate millions of Africans from the tyranny of colonialism. Results of the 1958 Pan African meeting:
By the year 1963 32 out of the 63 African states were independent from colonial rule.
Influence of pan Africanist philosophy led to more uprising and the demand for economic liberty and political freedom

Organization of African unity was formed to achieve the Pan Africanist vision
African Development bank was formed to help finance African expansion projects
Regional economic cooperation hubs such as ECOWAS & SADCC were formed to increase regional trade among Africans
Today the OAU is the African Union which continue to promote peace and economic development across the continent
In the 21st century there are African- African American conferences to foster ties between Africans in America and those on the motherland. Haiti has indicated its desire to join the African Union.

A Message to the African people , By B.F.Bankie, and Samuel Pieh Advisors of AUSC Presidency.

A Message to the African people , By B.F.Bankie in Windhoek, Namibia, and Samuel Pieh Advisors of AUSC Presidency.

From Samuel Pieh
As a descendant of the enslaved Africans who became poster children of the USA Abolitionists in 1839, I have great respect and appreciation for former President John Quincy Adams for defending the human's rights of the Amistad African in the Supreme Court of America. I am also very grateful to all people of conscience... President Kennedy took great political risks by intervening to release Reverend Martin Luther King from prison in 1960, using National Guard to desegregate southern colleges including the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where my own son graduated with the BSC degree in Criminal Justice/Sociology and Law Enforcement in December 2015. President Kennedy's oratory skills remind me of John Quincy Adams, especially the quote in his June 1963 civil rights address"...we have a right to expect that the negro will be presensible, will uphold the law, but they also have a right to expect that the law will be fair, that the constitution will be color blind..." I have learned that every partnership must be mutual commitment for the transformation to be effected in a sustainable manner.

AUSC delegates in the 2nd East African Manufacturing Business Summit and Exhibition to share the AUSC International Action Plan 2016-2019

The 2nd high-level Manufacturing Business Summit and Exhibition themed “Harnessing the Manufacturing Potential for Sustainable Economic Growth in the East African Community (EAC) scheduled as a three day event, started on this 23rd  and will end on 25th May 2017 at Serena Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda. This high-level conference is co-organized with the East African Community (EAC) with very strong support from the Rwandan Government. The event is co-hosted by the East African Business Council (EABC) and the East African Manufacturing Associations i.e. the Rwanda Association of Manufacturers (RAM), Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA), Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI), Burundi Manufacturers Association (AIB), and Kenya Manufacturers Association (KAM).

Over 300 top executives in the manufacturing and agri-business sectors, high-ranking policy and decision makers, as well as leading financial institutions from Africa and beyond  are one of the participants, according to the EAC Secretariat.
The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame was  expected to grace the official opening ceremony of the Summit, but came the Prime minister Anasthase Murekezi representing him.

The AUSC Members have been invited to attend this summit. The AUSC President's Office selected 9 special Delegates who were accredited to attend for this first day of the summit and will keep participating in different sessions of this summit.

The 2nd East African Manufacturing Business Summit and Exhibition is offering exhibitions where investors, enterprises, researchers and academia can collectively showcase new products and services as well as latest innovations in manufacturing, particularly those with relevance to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The 2nd high-level Manufacturing Business Summit and Exhibition is the follow up of the 1st Manufacturing Business Summit and Exhibition which took place at the Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo in Kampala, Uganda  in 2015.
The biannual East African Manufacturing and Business Summit is being organized against a backdrop of economic resurgence and high political commitment to pursue development driven by industrialization. The forum therefore stands to offer an important platform for governments in the region to engage the private sector on critical steps needed to leverage higher levels of investment in manufacturing.
The expected outcome is significant impact on broader socio economic development objectives such as employment creation, technology transfer and wealth creation.   The forum seeks to create an avenue for the private sector to advocate and campaign for the acceleration of industrial reforms aimed at improvement of investment conditions in the EAC strategic sectors.

The EAC region has already identified strategic areas for industrial development in the region that bear comparative advantages and where significant private sector investment is needed to unlock potentials. These strategic sectors include: agro-processing and agri-business; mineral processing; pharmaceuticals; construction materials; fertilizers & agro-chemicals as well as the strengthened leather & textiles and automotive sector.

Keep following the activities of this summit online via AUSC Facebook, Twitter and Website.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY Of © JULIET ROGERS

I am Juliet Rogers, A young female Sierra Leone Philosopheress, A student in the Public Health Department at Africa Graduate University, Nation Builder, Youth Activist and a Philanthropist.

For the past years, I have worked relentlessly with plenty Youth and Child advocacy organization like Child Forum Network (CFN), Association of Future Icons (AFI), and many more on ADVOCATE for Youths and Children Nationwide through the media and podia of diverse ways. At present, over months now, I have been working with Sierra Leone Youth Alliance for Nation Building (SLYANB) coorperatively to achieve a common goal with the  slogan 'IMPERIUM LEONE'.

I have written a lot of philosophic inspirations and essays which I believe would help change and mold the negative mentality of youths in Africa and the world over towards nation building, integrity maintainace to list but a few. I am a Youth Activist with magnificient vision; I will love to see Sierra Leone and the world over a better place on earth than it was, as history and governance unfolds before I was born into it.

*A CHANGING WORLD, NEEDS A CHANGING EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM*

My patriotic and fellow Sierra Leoneans, education is all important in determining the growth and stability of our nation, Sierra Leone. I clearly narrate here that, education is not an option, but, it is a requirement that would guarantee the productivity of our *Nation And Help Prepare Us For The Near Tomorrow*. *_Au fond_* , "education is a weapon against exploitation, and an instrument for progress; the power of the pen can inspire a people to nationalism; the youths of any nation can change the course of history by using sheer talents and enriching knowledge and skills in the service of their nation and people." ( *Dr. Jose Rizal*)

• The population of Sierra Leone at the last census taken in 2015  stands then at 7,092,113 people, with a growth rate of 3.2%. It reflects the demographic profile of a young population, whereby 40.9 percent are less than 15 years, and 3.5 percent are 65 years and above. ( *Statistic Sierra Leone*)

There is, this demographic reality that,  Sierra Leone as a country, is one amongst nations that, has the youngest populations in the world. Taking this into consideration, I suppose, it is *sine qua non* for her leaders to resuscitate values in order to develop the faculties of her human resources. For the simple reason that, human beings nowadays stand in want of specific *set of skills* to survive in this competitive world,  as well as to make  progress. Noticeably, this sets of skills can be referred to as *Education.*

“Everyone should understand the profound importance of education in the civilizational development of a nation,” said *Manipur governor Dr. Najma Heptulla*

In regards to Manipur governor Dr. Najama Heptulla mentioned quote, I opine, it is high time, we put firm strategies in place, as a nation, to help realizes the benefits that we would derive from such strategies, because, real education at most times is the catalyst in creating  leaders, that ended up being successful in their endeavours.

Additionally, it is imperative we🇸🇱  acknowledge as a nation that, we can merely survive in this *competitive world*;   when, we push to action sensory systems to procure  forward-looking education which is perceptive. *The more knowledge we get, the more we procreate and  expand*.

*In the meantime, reflect on these words:*

“If We as a country really value education, what are we going to do to make the profession of teaching attractive?"

*Admonition:* A nation like ours needs an educated population, in order to be productive, stable and competitive. In essence, without such strategic undertaking, there is hardly going to be growth and development.
