The
National Youth Green Growth Secretariat (NY2GS), Green Economy Alliance
Star Partners (GEASP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment
and Natural Resources, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP),
Organization of African Youth (OAY) and African Youth Partnership
Initiatives (AfYPI) to host the Pan-African Youth Conference under the
theme; Partnership for Capacity Development on Sustainable Urbanization,
Protection against Hazardous Chemical and Waste towards Achieving 2030
Agenda for sustainable development.
The conference is scheduled to take place in UNEP Hq, Nairobi from the 19th -20th April 2017.
The
conference main objective is to raise awareness, identify collaborative
partnerships for the youth and representatives of governments, private
sector and civil society organizations to identify priorities of action
needed for capacity building and training, challenges and opportunities
available for youth towards development agenda and accelerating
Sustainable development in Africa. This forum will strengthen
cooperation and partnership links between youth, governments and
stakeholders in the sector.
The conference will
access the progress made so far at the global levels to combat the
effects i.e Conventions and protocol coupled with Sustainable
Development Goal to provide frameworks that will caution youth from the
extreme conditions for Africa’s future growth and development.
The
conference’s outcomes will feed into the eighth meeting of the
Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention (RC COP-8) and the
eighth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm
Convention (SC COP-8) which will be held from 24 April to 5 May 2017.
The
conference secretariat is not supporting delegates participation
(Air-tickets or Accommodation), but we will be able to provide local
transport to and from the conference, conference materials and Meals.
