With those who can , you all are called to Join Sister Keisha Evans from Pan African City Alive in East Palo Alto and others for an informal gathering to honor Nelson Mandela International Day on his birthday, TUESDAY, JULY 18TH FROM 6 – 7:30PM.  WE WILL PROMPTLY MEET ON MANDELA PARKWAY AND 8TH STREET  (one block down from the West Oakland BART Station).
We will begin with a drum call led by Brother Val Serrant (you can bring a drum to join) and a libation by Sister Keisha. How the Day came about: In November 2009, the United Nations General Assembly declared 18 July as "Nelson Mandela International Day" in recognition of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom. Individuals around the world are asked to mark this day by making a difference in their communities.

MANDELA’S THREE RULES:
“FREE YOURSELF, FREE OTHERS, AND SERVE EVERY DAY.”
A FEW OF NELSON MANDELA’S QUOTES:
"IT ALWAYS SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE UNTIL IT'S DONE."
"A GOOD HEAD AND A GOOD HEART ARE ALWAYS A FORMIDABLE COMBINATION."
